20th Anniversary Ride

This year, Charleston Moves celebrates its 20th anniversary! We are extremely proud to look back and see how we've upheld a legacy. In 2005, we bridged the Cooper River with Wonders' Way, the bicycle and pedestrian path on the Ravenel Bridge. And now, in 2025, we're bridging the Ashley River with a world-class standalone bicycle and pedestrian bridge, the first pedestrian cable-stayed swing bridge in the United States.

In addition to riding in commemoration of our transformational victories, we honor the immeasurable contributions of our dear friend Tom Bradford, for without his guidance and grit, we would not be here.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO THE RIDE:

1. Completing our waiver is a requirement to participate in the ride. Please fill it out ASAP HERE.
2. We will start promptly at 6 pm; you must arrive no later than 5:50 pm to check in.
3. The ride will begin and end at Island Cabana Bar (50 Immigration Street, 29403). The route is ~7.3 miles and should take ~55 minutes to complete. Before committing, be aware of this distance and that we will go over the existing Ashley River Bridges.
4. We will have a police escort. This ride will be casually-paced, but we must stay together for the escort to be effective. Unless you have a mechanical issue or the group is obeying a traffic law, stopping during the ride is not permitted.
5. For the safety of all, children under 12 must ride attached to a guardian, not on their own bike — consider a trailer or tandem bicycle. Pets are not allowed on the ride.
6. We strongly encourage you to ride your bike to the event. For those who need to drive, see permitted parking locations in the map below.
7. Please join us after the ride for a happy hour! A portion of sales will benefit Charleston Moves.
