Mount Pleasant Fresh Paint Ride

Join Charleston Moves for a celebratory ride showcasing the new bike lanes on Coleman Boulevard over Shem Creek! This dedicated infrastructure significantly advances the multi-modal network in Mount Pleasant, and what's more, includes green paint segments for added safety and visibility. Following the ride, we'll return to Muddy's Dockside Bar for a social hour along the waterfront.

Charleston Moves continues to advocate for the completion of Mount Pleasant Way, the Town's visionary plan for a connected network of bicycle and pedestrian trails that will safely connect people to everyday destinations and offers quality space for recreation. Your donation helps to support our ongoing complete streets advocacy, including to further the installation of multi-modal infrastructure throughout the Town of Mount Pleasant.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO THE RIDE:

1. Completing our waiver is a requirement to participate in the ride. Please fill it out in advance HERE.
2. The ride will depart at 10:45 am; you must arrive no later than 10:30 am to check in.
3. The ride will begin and end at Muddy's Dockside Bar (1313 Shrimp Boat Ln, 29464). The route is ~4.6 miles and should take ~30 minutes to complete. Before committing, be aware of this distance and that we will ride on roads (not sidewalks or paths).
4. We will not have a police escort. Part of the route will include riding on the new infrastructure along Coleman Boulevard, while the rest will be on low-speed neighborhood streets within the Old Village. This ride will be casually-paced, and will obey all traffic laws. Unless you have a mechanical issue or the group is obeying a traffic law, stopping during the ride is not permitted.
5. For the safety of all, children under 12 must ride attached to a guardian, not on their own bike — consider a trailer or tandem bicycle. Pets are not allowed on the ride.
6. We encourage you to ride your bike to the event. For those who need to drive, there is parking at Muddy's Dockside Bar. The area is also served by CARTA Route 41.
